Malawi Orphan Care Trust Fund

WHO ARE WE?

The Malawi Orphan Care Trust Fund is run by a committee of dedicated trustees, led by the chairman and founder, Gillian Bennett, a VSO volunteer in Malawi.

The fund is registered with the Charity Commision (Reg. No. 1123468)

WHAT DO WE DO?

The Trust Fund was set up with the following objectives:

  • To assist orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi to access secondary and tertiary education

  • To enable rural and urban communities in Malawi to set up and maintain community based orphan care and youth training centres

  • To promote awareness and understanding of global development issues in schools around the world.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Support A Student!

You can help an orphan or a needy child in Malawi go to school. $10 covers one term's school fees at a Community Day Secondary School.

A deserving Malawian student who has lost one or more parents, and has been personally recommended by the Headteacher, will be assigned to receive your donation in the form of payment of his school fees. The student will write to you to let you know how he or she is doing.

Make a small personal contribution to help a student in one of the poorest countries of the world!

Get Involved!

Promote Global Education in you school/association

Assist Schools in Malawi

You can link up with a primary or secondary school in Malawi, with a view to creating a cross-cultural relationship and assisting the school with it's projects.

Raise Funds

You can raise funds to help a rural or small urban community to care for and provide training for the young orphans in its area.

IT IS ONLY THROUGH EDUCATION THAT CHILDREN CAN ESCAPE THE POVERTY OF A SUBSISTENCE ECONOMY
